Its author, Professor David Munro, was a charter member of the College, who worked with the Canadian Teachers’ Federation to create the Canadian College of Teachers on February 1 1958. |
In 2004, Dr Rosemary Foster received the Canadian College of Teachers' award for the best doctoral dissertation in Canadian Universities for the period 2002 to 2004. The purpose of her dissertation was to investigate leadership in two of the twenty-one schools included in the Canadian Education Association's Exemplary Schools Project (Gaskell, 1995). The general research question which guided this study was: How do the students, parents, and staff within two secondary schools with a reputation for success experience and understand leadership? |
The purpose of this article is to define and describe "school-based funds" and establish their place in planning and implementing effective school programs and to provide a set of guidelines that can be used by school boards as they develop policies with respect to the management and control of school-generated (non-board) funds. |
